Laut Statistik investieren junge Frauen in Entwicklungsländern bis zu 90% ihres Einkommens wieder in ihre Familie und Community. Bei Männern sind das häufig nur 30% bis 40%. Deswegen hört man immer häufiger die Idee, bewusst in junge Mädchen zu investieren als Schlüssel, um die Situation herum zu reißen.
Die Nike Foundation hat gerade bekannt gegeben, eine Menge Kohle in Mädels zu investieren und hat sich dazu eine Webseite von den Agenturen Grow Interactive und Wieden+Kennedy bauen lassen: The Girl Effect.

i strongly oppose the idea of exploiting other mammals for profit or whatsoever reasons. i don’t see why we have to feed the tenfold amount of calories compared to the nutrition value we get from their babies‘ milk. this causes hunger. this causes waste. right, no science or government will bring us peace but ourselves, and it starts with respecting the basic rights of every sentient being there is. we had the abolition of human slavery, women’s suffrage, now the next step will follow. none of us is free until all of us are free, or in tolstoy’s words, as long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields. if you think about it, a lot of things – along them this video – will appear a little hypocritical. please take some time to figure, thank you.
